Cool Futuristic/Concept Gadgets That Really Inspire

About 10 years ago, we didn’t really expect the 1.4mb 3.5 inch floppy to evolve into flash drives 10x smaller with storage capacity as big as 32gb. The interesting thing about technology is; it’s just going to get more and more high-end but the size, is just going to get smaller and slimmer.

These concept gadgets you see before you today, have extremely high chance of getting into production anywhere in the future. For example, Microsoft’s Surface Computing Technology certainly tells us they are for real. Here’s some really cool concept gadgets, just concepts for now but we really hope it’ll be implemented, that inspires. If we happened to missed something impressive, please let us know in comment. Full list after jump.

Laptop in-car mount is fugly, but flying off the shelves

I often see drivers parked on a nearby street at night, plundering the local free wi-fi via a laptop perched awkwardly on the passenger seat.

Portable Car Auto Seat Mount Tray Laptop Table Cup Holder

It's for people like these that the awkwardly-named "Portable Car Auto Seat Mount Tray Laptop Table Cup Holder" was designed. What is essentially an airplane tray table for your car attaches to the seatback or the steering wheel (with the helpful tip "Do not mount on steering whell [sic] while driving"). Yes it's ugly as sin, but the $13.99 device seems to be selling well--it's nearly out of stock.

Bamboo Speakers Aren't Just For Looks, Are Really Made of Bamboo
Any set of speakers that only push 2W and cost $30 probably aren't the greatest, but you have to respect any piece of electronic gadgetry that's made of ACTUAL FREAKING BAMBOO.

According to Gadgets Alerts, the company chose bamboo because it provides a greater sound range than similarly spec'd speakers, but who knows for sure. Clearly, the reason for buying these is for geek bragging rights.

Universal USB Cell Phone Charger Keychain

This little gadget looks very practical to carry around and will do what it intended to be, a universal charger for cell phone battery through USB interface.
Universal USB Cell Phone Charger KeychainIf you have a tendency to forget to charge your phone or accidentally leave your charger at home when you’re headed out for a weekend, you might consider picking up this tiny phone charger. It’s small enough that it won’t weigh you down anymore than your keys would. Plus since it is a keychain it’d be with you when you need it most. The charger is powered via USB and works with most cellphone batteries.

Just one simple thought. In the description, you’ve read that this universal charger keychain will work with “most” cellphone batteries. But what is that “most” means to be? For nokia? Sony? Chinese Cell Phone? or anything else? Well, there is no further information about it. But for a 1 buck and half gadget, I guess there shouldn’t be a problem to try one to test what is that “most” capable of doing. :) [Source]
